How do we nurture our children and provide the necessary elements for growth? How do we remove the impediments to becoming their own persons? Explore these and other questions focused on how to help children realize their potential as human beings in Part II of Gordon Neufeld's Power to Parent series. If you are raising kids of any age, or working closely in a professional capacity with them, you will not want to miss the opportunity to participate in this program.
Join visiting artist Kristen Lewis for one or two dance workshops for parents and educators designed to develop movement literacy. The first workshop (4-6PM), "Brain Dance and Developmental Movement Principles" offers an introduction to the fundamental patterns through which healthy humans grow in the first year (or so) of life—a fun way to integrate movement into family and classroom life. The second workshop (6:30-8:30PM), "Concept-Based Approach to Movement " promotes a deep “movement literacy,” and provides a lens through which to deepen both expression and perception of movement. What you will learn will empower children to ask questions, and to make connections between the dance patterns and concepts and other areas of curiosity and study.
