Have you ever wondered what Kundalini Yoga is? Do you want to explore a new yoga technique? Do you want to expand your understanding of Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga is an ancient form of yoga to promote physical well-being and expand your consciousness. This informal workshop will offer insights into Kundalini Yoga, and provide an opportunity to ask questions while sharing yogi tea and snacks.

For those who choose to stay for the optional discussion period following our group practice, we will discuss topics like:

  • What is Kundalini energy?
  • Where does this type of yoga come from?
  • What are the benefits of Kundalini Yoga and how can it enhance your current yoga practice?
  • What is the basis of the different breathing techniques?
  • What are the benefits of meditating?
  • What can mantra offer?
  • What are mudras, kriyas or sadhanas?
  • Why close your eyes during class?
  • What is the significance of the colour white?
  • Whatever else you would like to ask!

We will do some yoga and meditation to provide examples and experience some of the Kundalini techniques. Whether you are new to Kundalini Yoga or a seasoned regular you will gain an understanding of the teachings and deepen your practice.

About the teacher:

Bridget Dunne was introduced to yoga through the Hatha tradition more than a decade ago. While living in Ghana, West Africa she attended a Kundalini yoga class and knew this was her path. She followed her intuition and enrolled in teacher training after attending this one class. Bridget is a trained instructor in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. She completed her 220 hour Level I teacher training in Ghana and is currently completing her 300 hour Level II teacher training in Vancouver. Bridget lives on Bowen Island with her husband and step-daughters. She has a passion for nature with both a Bachelor and Masters degrees in Environmental Science. When she’s not on the yoga mat, she’s in the outdoors rock climbing, cross country skiing or kayaking. Bridget believes in and has experienced the benefits of this union, yoga, as it reconnects us to our heart, our purpose and our true self. The world is moving at a faster pace than ever before which requires us to stay present and act from a place of true intention. Bridget is excited to be teaching a regular Kundalini class on Bowen Island and supporting the yoga community here. With a daily yoga practice, the possibilities are endless!
