Amrita Sondhi, RYT 200
Amrita Sondhi moved to Bowen Island in 2003 and has been teaching yoga on Bowen since she arrived. She graduated from Kairos in 2003 where she studied for 4 years in the teachers training program with the veteran yogi/teacher Sandra Sammartino.
Amrita teaches a restorative Hatha Yoga class. The student will be taken on a journey where they get fully in touch with where their body is on that day or given week and will gain tools they can use to stay in balance throughout the week and months ahead. Students will gain life changing skills gained experientially through ongoing participation in her classes. Amrita thanks her teacher Sandra for staying on purpose and passing on this precious yoga lineage that she can now pass on to her students.
Participants leave her classes feeling refreshed, and rested with renewed energy to lead their unique lives.
Amrita is the author of the “Modern Ayurvedic Cookbook” and “The Tastes of Ayurveda”. She is the founder of Movement, a sustainable eco fashion line. She loves ocean swimming on Bowen, skiing at Whistler, Walking, painting oils on canvas, and writing and reading poetry.
She is often asked how she does it all. She says the Yoga is how the rest falls into place. She believes to keep it you share it, so she thanks her ongoing students for deepening her practice (and for all the laughter they share).
